Parent Council

Parent Council is a group of parents selected to represent all parents of children at the school. Any parent who wishes to raise an issue for the Parent Council to consider can do so.

Smithton Primary school has an active Parent Council who support the school community in numerous ways.

Useful sites for further information regarding parental involvement in children’s education.

  • Scottish Parent Teacher Council – SPTC is the national organization for parents’ groups in Scottish schools.  They offer help and advice to all parents.
  • National Parent Forum of Scotland – The NPFS was set up to give Parent Councils and Parents an opportunity to discuss and raise educational issues of mutual interest or concerns at a national level.
