Teaching our pupils to become numerate continues to be one of the key focuses in Scottish education today. Here at Smithton, we are continually looking at ways to improve the learning and teaching of maths, with an eye on raising attainment across the school from Nursery through to Primary 7.
There are various different aspects to mathematics that we teach:
Number: Add +, Subtract –, Multiply x, Divide ÷
Fractions, Decimal Fractions and Percentages
Money
Time
Measurement: Length, Weight, Volume
Shape: 2D Shape and 3D Objects
Angle, Symmetry and Transformation
Data and Analysis: Graphs and handling information
