We’ll start with the positives: we have a friendship group starting – please contact Miss Boyle for any information about this megan.boyle@highland.gov.uk
I believe a morning dance group is set to start again on Tuesdays at 8am -watch this space for more information as it is hopefully starting next Tuesday. Thanks, Lynne our sports coordinator and the Parent Council for funding this so that all can come.
Classes and groups are all ready for Inverness Music Festival: Thursday, Saturday and Monday! Thanks to all taking part and for family and friends who will support on the day.
Now for the not so good news: with staff absences continuing you may have noticed reduced communication. Our priorities are keeping you children safe and ensuring they are continuing to learn. Whether it’s your child’s usual teacher or usual style of teaching might be different as we rise to the challenges but please know we are doing our very best to ensure the children and young people are not missing out. To add to it all, after the awful fire at Park Primary in Invergordon, the decision has been taken at Highland Council that no one is to use ‘black Fujitsu’ laptops…99% of Smithton staff have these machines to work from! Staff cannot be contacted by email nor can they record information electronically such as child plans, etc. Please bear with us as we await further instruction as I believe there are interim measures for schools so that we can find a way through this.
