Exciting news – we have been chosen as only one of seven schools to enter a competition to raise as much money as possible for our school! You can donate directly via the page below
https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/mfr-school-challenge/fundraisers/smithton-primary-school/
or you can share the link with anyone in your social media contacts or you can fund raise and then donate! The only thing is we only have until 12 noon 14th June to raise the money. House Captains and a member of the Parent Council, Catriona Gray, will be meeting this morning to see what we can do.
We are looking to raise £10000 to fund more trim trail equipment which will go around the whole of the perimeter of the school to give a quality ‘daily mile’ experience for all children.
The winning school gets to keep all it has raised on the website and an extra £5000! Some of the runners up get £1000.
We’ll keep you posted via the blog but any money at all will be very gratefully received – thank you in advance.
Didn’t she do well! No pressure, Hannah, but we’ll all be looking at you in the school show! Fantastic achievement to get a distinction.
We’re looking forward to a week of outdoor activities and learning as 23rd is outdoor classroom day across the world. We’re back to more typically Scottish weather so please make sure your child has appropriate clothing this week for being outdoors. Every class will be learning outside on Thursday at various points so hopefully we’ll all be a bit more appreciative of the local environment.
We finish the week on Saturday with a walk in the forest 11am – 12.30pm and some will be at the annual athletics meet representing the school. Thanks to the staff who are volunteering their time for both of these events. Get more details from Mrs McCormack in the playground before school or from the school office if you fancy a walk as a family. If you want to walk while your child is in school come with us on Friday 7th June and return to school for a cuppa and discussion about sleep routines with Emma and Jo.
