Girl guiding and scouting began in 1904 by Lord and Lady Baden Powell. A group called Rosebuds soon became Brownies. Girl guiding movement started through this. Pretty soon there were groups all over the world! The guiding and scout movement agreed that 22nd February each year would be a world wide day to think about people across the world who are also in the organisations in celebration of both Lord and Lady Baden Powell that started the groups for young people.
Brown Owl and some of our groups are wearing their uniforms today to think about people all over the world.
