P3 visited the Shieling Project near Struy yesterday to learn further about this term’s topic of crofting. The Project is a working croft that helps us learn traditional skills and encourage us to think about how we could better use our planet’s resources. We made bread, visited the animals and collected eggs, made willow wands and learned how to use wool and make it ready for wearing. Sam told us a story about the giant of the summer shielings and we had a fantastic time eating our bread for lunch in his home made oven. A very busy day and lots of fun was had by all!
