A wee reminder:
On Thursday the 1st of March, Smithton Primary School will be celebrating World Book Day. In the lead up to this, every class will be celebrating our love of reading by exploring the world of fairy-tales and turning these classic tales into a modern day comic strip.
On World Book Day, we would like to invite every child to dress up as their favourite book character and during the afternoon, every class will take part in a whole-school reading treasure hunt that will celebrate our shared love of reading.
During this, we will get a very exciting visit from Bobby the Bee from the Highland Hospice who will help the children with the treasure hunt. To show our support to the Highland Hospice, we would like to ask pupils, if possible, to bring a £1 donation on the day to help raise money for this cause.
Don’t forget to email in your ‘shelfie’ photos of your child reading at home…..
We also have a visitor coming from ICTFC to speak to us about an exciting upcoming reading challenge. Look out for other exciting activities that are planned!
Thank you from Miss Nicol and P5
