The school fete at Smithton School is our main fundraising activity event of the year and is a real community event. The money raised helps go towards transport for trips and the costs of bringing in specialist tutors/ performers who we feel will be of benefit to the children. The afternoon is usually a great success and we would encourage you to bring along friends and relatives with your children in the afternoon to enjoy the fun.
We are in great need of donations for our sales tables – cake and candy, bric-a-brac, groceries, books, produce (e.g. plants, fruit/veg,) bottles and raffle prizes. Perhaps your employer might consider making a donation?
We have asked all pupils to donate a small gift (value 50p) for the Lucky Dip – this should be wrapped.
Over the course of the year quite a lot of lost property has collected and not been claimed. If this has still not been claimed by the day of the fete, then we shall add un-named items of school uniform to the second –hand uniform stall at the fete.
It is important to remember on the day of the fete that ALL PUPILS FROM P1 – P7 WILL BE DISMISSED AT 12.00 NOON. ELCC (Nursery) will be open all day for pupils as usual. If your child is having a school lunch, this will be served for all pupils at 11.45am.
Please note that if you or a responsible adult are unable to accompany your child to the fete, then provision will be made at school for your child to be supervised. Please fill in the form you have been sent home to indicate what your child will be doing on the day of the fete (P1-P7 pupils only) and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday 9th June.
